Hi folks
When I got my Kapex 60 out of the box the saw was not set at the upright position but a few degrees to the left. I reset the saw to the upright position and did a few test cuts, but the saw was back at the off upright position!
I removed the star knob and its washer and found a hard substance, looked like solidified grease, on part of the screw threads. This was stopping the star knob screwing down sufficiently to hold the saw at the desired inclination when subjected to normal operations.
The threads were cleaned by running a die down them and the star knob re fitted. The locking star knob now works perfectly and holds the saw in the desired position.
I don't know if this has come up before as I am new to FOG, but thought it might be a good post to start with
