Hi all you new kapex owners ;D

All of you should have recieved a Kapex that was spot on out of the box. but nothing is perfect and some things happen.  I recieved my Kapex and had to adjust the lasers right away. This was very easy and I am glad to have done it.

The miter scale and bevels on my saw were set pretty good. They read perfect off of one cut with a square. But when using the double angle technique both miter and bevel settings were off. I needed them to read dead nuts so I adjusted them according to Rick Christopherson's user guide. Make sure and read this manual before attempting to make any adjustments

Adjusting the miter and bevel settings were very simple and easy to do. If you want to be a profficient user you must know how to adjust you equiptment.

Thanks for the link to the user manual.  As usual for a Festool product, the manual that came with the saw is not so hot.

The right-side laser on my saw was off by more than 1/16 inch.  But it was parallel to the cut.  The laser also has the finest line of any I've seen on a miter saw.

Yessir, the laser is very fine. So fine in fact that i can hit a knife mark using the laser sight. Incredible!

I have picked up a fine cut blade. (the one that should have been included) hint hint Festool hint hint
I have not used it yet since I have a Forrest Chopmaster and Frued ultimate cutoff blade both freshly sharpened. I also have a frued aluminum cutting blade. My guy at ToolDepot has informed me that they can put a 30mm center bore in those blades. Sweet.
I think I will still keep the Fine cut blade and compare the cuts to the Forrest and Frued blades when I get them back with the new bores.

I used a double error method vs the quadruple error method that Rick used. I decided that the double error method would be easier and plenty accurate enough for setting up a woodworking machine.

Hey Rick,

The manual looks great so far...  Any idea of when it will be "finalized"?
