Kapex and Sawhelper connection

I recently had the good fortune of purchasing a very nice Sawhelper U88.  I also purchased the Kapex connectors by Multiblades that hook into the v-groove much like the crown stops from Festool.  These connectors are very well made and allow me to use the crown stops (although I Prefer a scrap Pc of wood with my festool clamps).  The only complaint I have is that it doesn't always perfectly align the fence with the saw which causes my tape measurement to be off just enough to screw me up.  Does anyone no of any reason why the original Sawhelper connectors won't work on the Kapex?  I don't mind boring holes in the saw and removing that angle finder thing that I don't even know where it is.  I can't see why they won't but thought I would ask you guys.  Thanks.

What is causing slop in the connection that throws off your tape measure?  I have the same set up as you and  got a great deal on Craigslist. Mind if I ask where you found it and how much?

Thanks,
Dave

I just don't think there's enough metal on the ends of the Kapex to drill holes for the bracket.

On my homemade extension wings that line up and are connected via door hinge they have never been off more then a 1/32" in five years and usually are dead nuts, but if you are building something where precision counts you have to test cut. Get a piece of 1/2" MDF and cut it into 1"strips that are 48" and 96". Once youve tested you are good to go for that session, but once you move it, youve gotta test again or at least thats what i do. Gonna get Kapex and connectors this year and redo my extension wings. Be on the lookout for that, Eric

Dave its not really slop.  It's just easy to torque the wing/extension slightly if you don't set the leg down in the right position.  You can see it when you look down at the connector.  The margin will be slightly different. Perhaps the other connector would do the same thing??  Love this stand though.  I paid $250 for it on Craigslist.  I actually bought two of them I have another complete set up with 2-5' extensions.  Not sure if I'm going to keep it or not.
