I am just posting this as a warning to anyone who does not clamp their work down.
I broke the Pistal Grip, (That's what Festool calls the left side as you face the saw), of my Kapex saw head, when a piece of wood flipped and jammed up into the saw. I called Festool tech support and it cost me $45 + shipping but it was worth it, even though it was still usable. I was not about to use a $1400 damaged saw.
Dismantling the head and reassembly was about a 2 hour job. I wish I would have made a video of it to save anyone else who has this happen some time. There is one screw that has to be removed right at the bottom of where the head tilts down that is a real problem to get in and out because of the casting. Festool did warn me about it when I ordered the part. Anyway, the part they sent me did not have the Kapex decals on it which bothers me. Everything is back up and running so all is well.
