Kapex Burned Out Today

I got my Kapex when they first were released and I LOVE this saw.  It was performing fine today as usual, but I started to smell something funny. I thought it was the painter on the jobsite having a cigarette until the Kapex started making a weird sound, too.  The smell was coming from the saw. I made a few more cuts with it and the saw was still performing fine. No blade issues or motor slowing down, etc.  Just noise and smell.

So can someone tell me what they think is the issue, and is the repair cost prohibitive?

Sorry to hear about the issue with your saw. I'd recommend reaching out to our service team tomorrow, M-F, 8am-5pm Eastern. They are in the best position to diagnose the issue. Their number is below in my signature.
