I installed a new filter in my humidifier and had a surprising boost in humidity in my shop. It's at about 35% maybe more at times when the furnace is running a lot. My bandsaw cast iron table and my OF 1400 guide rods have rusted slightly. This was very upsetting as all these tools have been downstairs and no issues for a long time ago.

My question is mostly for the kapex and the OF 1400. Is there any thing you should or shouldn't use on them to prevent rusting? I was going to probably use Renaissance wax on all of them and maybe glide coat on my bandsaw if I don't like the results of the wax. Is there any sprays anyone would or wouldn't recommend out there? Also, for that matter I would be interested in using these on my domino as well.

I really didn't think this would happen to these tools with a low amount of humidity and was pretty upsetting.

Cast iron will easily begin rusting inside a well climate controlled room. I too am surprised at how easily Festool begins to rust. But!  Be not afraid. There's a really nice spritzing bottle. A very little goes a very long way. It's even safe to get on wood without too much worry of an oily stain mark. It's called PG 2000. Available from Amazon or woodcraft. It was even recommended by a Festool trainer in Indianapolis when I took some classes there. I bought a small-ish spray bottle about 2 years ago. About $10 I think. I've hardly made dent in it. I use it on everything and it works great.
