Kapex concerns

I have a 5 year old kapex that has been used sparingly and not abused. Stays in the shop and I only use it for finish work. Tonight I went to use it and it is running twice as fast and so loud I can barely take the noise. Still cuts fine but sounds like it is going so fast the blade is going to spin off. Speed dial works fine  and it is plugged into a midi and the into the wall.

If I were you I would not use it again until the problem is fixed. Call Festool for assistance.

Well I sent it in about a week ago with a contact me with quote repair - and was just notified by UPS I will get it back tomorrow.  Is it normal for them to send it back to me with notifying me with what was done if anything?  Especially since it is out of warranty?  Hoping I don't get a huge bill with it - but excited to get it back - if fixed.

My guess is that they've fixed it free of charge for you (it has happened before to some other owners whose machines were out of warranty). Probably there may be some paperwork included with the saw telling you what has been done or replaced.
