Kapex Crown Stop/Base Extension neither level nor stable

New Kapex.  New Crown Stop/Base Extensions.  Kapex table seems flat all the way across according to my Lee Valley Straightedge.
Crown stop extensions are most definitely not coplanar with the table.  They droop on the outboard edges up to 1/16 of an inch.
Worse, is that they move.  I can pick them up to get them level.  And I can put something on them to knock them out.
This is with either the knobs normal-tight or gorilla-tight.  No difference.

Maybe I'm expecting too much, but when you've paid $200 for something that really should have come with the $1400 saw in the first place, I don't expect to have to shim, grind, or fettle.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there an "Accuracy Accessory" that I need to shell out another $100 for?

This saw will be permanently mounted in a miter station.  But that station won't allow the stock fences to slide outboard of the base.  I was thinking I need the room those extensions will provide.  Is there another way?  Should I not even bother with the extensions?

Feeling rather disappointed, at present.

Using them for crown I did not care if they drooped as you described, just needed them to hold the stops. I now use them as extension on the MFT/CMS.

Considering their length and the only retention is a V into a V groove I consider what happens normal.

Well, maybe my expectations were too high then.

Has anyone figured out a way to affix them so they don't move, at least?

This saw will be more or less permanently mounted.  I suppose I could build something of my own instead to put the 5 inches between the Kapex and the Biesemeyer tables on either side.

Same thing happens to mine and i expect everyone else with the extensions.

I will admit it has not created me any proboems but like you i felt like it was a piss poor design and really the easy/lazy nickle and dime your custoemers way out kinda thing to do.

Still i kept them as the base of the saw is narrow as you suggested. Everything green is not gold if you get my drift..

I believe I have a way to do it, but I have to take a good look at mine and make sure it will work.

Simplest way would be support the free end with your wings with a groove in your new station.

Yeah Tom.  I get what you're saying.
If I have to build something anyway though, I'm going to return the extensions and save myself the $200.
I'll probably brace under the Biesemeyer tables on one end, and make something to fit in the V groove on the Kapex end.

Thanks, all!

I don't think you need extensions if you have a miter station. Just leave your rear fence 8" short on either side to allow kapex fence removal. Extend the arm on your stop to make up for the loss of rear fence.
