I was watching some online videos of the Kapex and saw people using them to cut dadoes/notches. Is there an adjustment for how low the blade will go or are they just doing it manually. I looked in my manual and didn't see anything like that.

thnx...Steve

There is a green lever on the right side (labeled 16.1 in the manual's diagram of the saw).  Flipping that up and down will engage/disengage that capability.  Turning the lever will adjust the depth of cut.  Please note you'll need to shim behind your material, otherwise you will end up with a slightly rounded dado because of the shape of the blade and the cutting position.

Information about its use is on page 18 of the Kapex Manual.  Also on page 14 of the Supplemental Kapex Manual which is more comprehensive.

7.10 Cutting depth limiter

The vertical swivelling range of the saw unit
can be adjusted via the stepless cutting
depth limiter, allowing you to groove or form
workpieces.

-Move the machine to working position.
-Move the cutting depth limiter lever (16.1)
down until it slots into position. The saw
unit can now be moved down only as far
as the preset cutting depth.
-Turn the lever for the cutting depth limiter
to set the required cutting depth.
-To deactivate the cutting depth limiter,
move the cutting depth limiter lever up
again.

You can also see it in the Kapex video at 2:55.

thnx, thats the video I saw, I musta missed the part where he adjusted the height it was done so quickly. Think i was digging around in my bag of Doritos right about then, hehe

I was wondering about the Kapex power plug in the video. Around the 51second mark, the plug end looks different from mine and the prongs look round where mine are flat. I've got the same flat prongs on my TS55.  The receptacle on the CT is also very different from mine. In fact, the plug and socket look like they are designed with each other in mind.  I don't ven think my tools could plug into that CT.

We are a German company, the video was made in Europe where the power plugs are different than those in the U.S.  [wink]

The plug in the video is the type used all over mainland europe , Germany, France, Greece etc (UK ones are different, we have two three types, one for domestic 220/240v and again for 110v site then again for workshop/site 220/240 supply) but Festool only supply tools to us with the first two as the other is not required. ;D

Edit:- I take too long with my typing, or too verbose ;D
