Kapex Depth Limit

I have installed a 3/4 inch auxiliary bed and fence on my Kapex since I am mainly going to be cutting fairly small 3/4 inch deep segments. I was considering setting the depth limit so I would not be cutting into the auxiliary bed (or at least just barely cutting it). Would this cause any problems? What I've seen about the depth limit talks mostly about cutting dadoes and such.

Dave,
[welcome] to the forum.  It is possible to set up the Kapex that way, but in order to minimize the amount of cutting into your supplemental fence laying flat, your will need to install a spacer to ensure that what you are trying to cut will be cut all the way thru.

Here is a link to the supplemental manual for the Kapex:  Kapex supplemental manual  .  Page 19 will illustrate and help you out.  The rest of the manual is great too!

Have fun with your Kapex!

Thanks much. The supplemental manual seems much better than the regular manual. I wonder why they don't expand the regular manual to include all this information? Anyhow, I can see using the spacer should be helpful. I have already discovered though that with a 3/4 inch aux. back fence that the hold down clamp doesn't work. I'm thinking maybe if I dado the aux. fence in the the area of hold down clamp that may allow it to be used?

[welcome] to the fog.
i have done this on my dewalt 718 a few times when cutting small pieces to stop them taking off across the room. on mine yo have to bring  the fence forward to the middle of the blade when it is down. this means that you are getting the full depth of cut with the least amount of cutting throught the bottom piece
