Has anyone who owns the current style of Kapex extension wings done anything to increase the work surface front to back?  I wish the wings were wider by 2-4” or so. Generally I can cut a x8 width, but beyond that the stock can get a little “teetery”.

I support wider workpieces with systainers, stacked to the exact height of the wings.

I haven’t investigated it at all, but am wondering if a bolt inserted into the track on the underside of the wing could support a pierce of flat metal that would in turn support a narrow piece of wood along the front of the wing. As I said, I haven’t at all looked into doing this.

The Systainer idea is a good one for occasional use.  I’m thinking of something more permanent.

There are two bolt grooves on the underside of the extensions so a set of brackets could be fixed to support a suitably thicknessed plank to any width required.
