Kapex Extensions P00107

Hi there,

I just wanted to start off by saying I've been reading FOG for a while, yet this is my first post.  There is a ton of knowledge here.

But, I digress.  I had a question about the P00107 extension set. First off, this is how the Festool website describes them:

Includes measuring tape with metric and imperial markings. Expand to give a range from 60-3/4" to 91" from the blade for material support. When fully extended, will accommodate materials up to 16' in length. An adjustable flip stop can travel the entire length of the extension, even when fully expanded, providing accurate measurements. A crown support provides additional support for taller materials up to 5-5/8". The legs of the extension can be removed for compact transportation. The extensions are primarily made from extruded aluminum and weigh 18 pounds each. The extensions attach to the Kapex's crown stops (494369), sold separately.

I just bought a Kapex and I want to attach these extensions to my Kapex Mobile Base (497 351) in order to utilize an extension with the crown stop.  Most of you probably know the UG extension set is not set up for the crown, so is there any good solution here?

Is that possible with the P00107?
Has anyone done that?

I use these brackets and I do like them very much. I will post pictures tomorrow. I know you can clamp to the UG extensions but I've had very little success with that because the aluminum is hollow and the clamps have loosened over use during my cutting session. I also have a small sacrificial board that I use for my small moldings that connects to the T tracks on the multiblades clamps as well!

You can use the KAPEX on the UG Base, add the Crown Stops, and connect the extensions you mentioned.

Either the old or the new extensions can be used with either the MFT/3 KAPEX or the UG Cart.

do you personally have this system set up?
If so how well does it work for you? And you wouldn't have any pictures would you?

I don't have those extensions any more but have set it up that way in the past to demonstrate the various options...

The MFT/3 tabletop height is 900mm (just under 3'). The MFT/3 KAPEX tabletop height is 790mm. The vertical distance from the base of the KAPEX to the cutting deck is 110mm. I suspect it was no accident that when combined, they match.

The Crown Stop table extensions hook into the v-groove on the KAPEX and then the older extersions, which you mentioned, mount to them. The new extensions connect directly to the v-groove on the KAPEX. It all ends up where the extension top surfaces, the KAPEX cutting deck, and the MFT/3 tabletop are the same height.

The only problem I see with using the extensions from the EB-set with the UG cart is that you cannot attach the stabilisers (struts). Without those the extensions are easily bumped out of allignment because they only attach with a single bolt to the kapex crown stops. I don't have a UG cart, so I can't take a picture with that combination.
