Recently I was cutting mdf crown molding and thought the little bit of smoke I thought was in the air was from the blade binding on the material. I have clean, sharp blade so thought it was funny but carried on and finished my tasks. A couple days later my next cuts were through some 6/4 kiln dried ash and I could barely make the cut without the saw losing all its power. When running the saw wide open and the blade not engaging any material, there is a lot of arc'ing going on in the motor housing. I unplugged the saw and pulled out the brushes and they are barely worn at all, although the contact surface had some scoring in it. I went to spin the blade by hand to inspect the armature and it has a few rough areas on it, and something now clicks inside the motor housing area when the blade is manually spun. Have I lost a bearing on the motor? I bought this saw probably 8-9 years ago but I am only on its second blade and only pull this saw out for detail work. I do not woodwork full time and would consider this saw barely used. I hope I do not have to put hundreds of dollars in to this....
