Kapex stiff on moving to different degree cuts

I have one of the earlier Kapex 120's and its always been stiff moving off of 0 degrees.  I seldom move it but when I do it's a chore.  I don't have the saw locked down but it is a two hand operation of holding the saw and trying to move to different degrees.  Is there a lubrication/adjustment to loosen this up.  I remember quite a while ago fellas having issues.

Mine was hard at first but it loosened up. Plus it’s a 2 step process lift the tab below the handle and lift up on the handle at same time

I have the process down but mine is really tight. Granted I don’t use the function that often but compared to the new ones in the stores mine is really tight.

That is a purposeful design.  I don't like it but haven't taken the time to address it.  I believe there is a conical washer that is what makes the table so stiff.  You can remove that conical washer and replaced it with several washers.  Here's a thread on the fix at the old talkFestool forum.

Thanks for the thread. Seems strange they’d make it so difficult. Sometimes I wonder about the way the Germans build stuff.  Not always user friendly.
