Kapex: UG or MFT/3 Kapex

Peter is right -- as standard you cannot use them, but you can flip the fences or use a longer board the spans the deck to attach to the wings with clamps.  Another option is to buy an accessory that attaches to the wings and includes a t-track for crown stops available from multiblades.com.

The multiblades attachment is what I use. It's very handy for crown stops and also a small molding jig that I made which also has t-nuts and clamps down through the t-track as well!

So, back to the original question from last December.  Thanks for all the advice.  I ended up just using the Kapex on my MFt/3 for my 2013 projects.  That was ok for occasional projects.  Saturday was the final straw as I moved all my Festool stuff to my main house and down into a basement.  Carrying it out and into houses, loading it into my truck and unloading is not fun for an old guy.  I am getting the UG and never lifting or carrying the Kapex again!

Due to the length of the handle when the UG stand is collapsed it can be uncomfortable to move it u and down stairs. The handle length is fixed so the unit levels. If you need to roll  the Kapex around a room while it is in the cut position, do not try to lift if from the handle side and roll it. Tilt is back like you would a dolly from the shell side.
