KAPEX wings

Ok so I started today building the 2 wings for my miter station.

I am using the sawhelper brackets.

Cut 2 11-3/4 inch wide 3/4" birch ply sheets. Left is 8 feet long and right one is 60inch long.

Used my MFK700 router to route out a recess to level the ply with the KAPEX base. Roughly one layer of the birch ply needed to go.

Nice and flush.

Used the extended rail to check alignment aside the long level.

I will use the MFK700 with a round over bit for all the edges.

Still thinking about how to build the base.

I want this to be open underneath contrary to my first idea to build a box frame as this is more space I can use to store my Woodpecker measuring stuff....

Bought some aluminum corner profiles that I might put underneath as added support and build a post near the end.... Decisions, decisions...

Did not like the metal profiles after all.

New design (back to my first idea = box frame):

Added two leveling feet at end.

Put rubber pads on the feet to reduce accidental movement of the wing(s).

Put some shellac on. Only thing is to attach the Starrett measuring tapes left and right to the INCRA fence.

Also dialed in the lasers on the KAPEX which were off mostly on the left side.
