The Haus-Boss reminded me that we needed to refinish daggy the edge of the kitchen counter. The whole thing is Jarrah veneer, and the counter is Formica with a Jarrah edge strip.

After grousing about what to use for sanding the 1/4 round I got the 3M rubber block, and some 180. The Mirka was already adorned with a 240g screen.
The 3M block was a mongrel and the edge of the paper was loading up quick.
So I recalled the Mirka hand sander which is ~70x200 mm (~3x8").
What an absolute brilliant thing it is. The thing loaded up a bit, and I would take the screen of and it was fine. The whole thing took ~1/2 hour to 45 minutes to prep.
Then put on a 50% thinned coat of spar varnish. Tomorrow a 25%, and then probably 2 top coats.
Festool makes a similar hand block with the vacuum fitting. Whether yellow or green These things are worth the 40-70$ that they cost.
