Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and also new to Festool. I've just took ownership of a KS 60 mitre saw. I've had it about a week and I'm highly delighted with it so far. I'm just a DIY woodworker  and so my knowledge in some things is limited so please forgive my ignorance in some things. I noticed that the dust port is a bayonet type fitting and all I own is a simple shop vac and the hose to this ends in a slightly angled tube onto which the supplied cleaning tools fit. With my old mitre saw, this just pushed into a hole in the cast of the body. So where I need help is, are there any adapters out there that would convert the Festool bayonet dust port into a simple plain tube? I do appreciate that the best solution would be a Festool hose but what would be at the other end of such a hose? And would that only fit a Festool dust extractor? I don't even know what the internal/external diameters are of the bayonet port on my KS 60. As I said, my knowledge in Festool is very limited at the moment. So any help or suggestions would be greatly received. Please forgive my ignorance.

Helle Polarman, the bajonet fitting only fits Festool hoses, and there is no adapter for it to fit hoses of other brands.

But, you can use any other hose with the proper dimensions in the port. The inner dimension of the port is 35 mm, and that's a common size for dust hoses. They don't need to have the bajonet fitting, a friction fit is enough.

What I always do to fit a hose on something, I go to my local store for building supplies, and I look at all the round objects I can find to see if I can conjure up some sort of adapter myself. I always find a way.
