hi there.
im looking for a stand off (i think thats what theyre called_) that you put at the top of a ladder to keep it out from the wall a foot or 2
iv seen several  online but cant deside. some have wheels , some have shelfs

there are all kind of designs out there.
what designs are good and what are bad

thanks alan

I've got this one in my "file of things to buy" as I liked the idea of being able to rest at the 90 degree corner of the house as well as flat to the wall.

Aside from shelves and hooks and things I would look for adjustable width and quick attach / removal. I have one that is neither and I wish it had those features.  The one I have is a simple bent square tube,  roughly 40" or so wide. It works very well but the features mentioned would be a real improvement.

i am looking at this

it is like the one garry posted but with a shelf  built into it. it should make it stronger and give you somewhere to put tools when your working.

any ideas on whether to get one with wheels or not

Hey I like that one. Straight wall and corner type all in one. Plus the shelf!

Although it looks like it might be harder to span a window depending on where the feet rest, and the window framing and shutters?
