I'm brand new to the Festool and track saw worlds, so please excuse if this is basic or already fully discussed.

Can someone explain, or point me to an explanation on, how to best make lap joints and tenons on larger stocks such as 6x6 or 8x8 timber using a TS55 or 75?

I want to build a large worktable that will stand up to rough work.

Alternatively, I can use 14mm Dominos, but some quick googling seems to indicate that a lap, and even more so, mortise/tenon, would be much stronger.

Thank you,

Joseph

Do you have a Kapex and a MFT?  The only way I know how , I would need as a min the MFT. Im sure others are here can help. There are some pretty cleaver folks here

Cutting laps with any circular saw is fairly straightforward, just a sequence of kerfs and chisel out, then smooth:https://www.google.com/search?q=cutting+lap+joints+with+a+circular+saw&oq=cutting+lap+joints+with+a+circular+saw&aqs=chrome..69i57j0.10978j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

A TS55 will not cut deep enough for half laps on either 6x6 or 8x8. A TS75 might do half lap kerfs on a 6x6.
