LC45 Charger

My charger while plugged in and no battery the red light blinks. If I install battery light continues to blink. If I unplug charger wait 15 seconds and plug in light goes yellow  then blinking green and battery charges but battery gets very warm. When I remove battery light will go back blinking red. I have the 3 ah battery and both do same thing
