Lee Valley Track Saw Guide Rail Bags

Yes, I picked up the smaller bag for the 55" rails and will probably get the long bag for my 116".  It's very nice!  I wish there was an intermediate length bag for the 75" rail.  [big grin]

[member=13462]live4ever[/member] - can you compare this to the Festool bag?

I also like the idea of a 75” bag.  Wonder if Rob Lee would go for the idea?

Unfortunately I can't - haven't ever handled the Festool bag.  But, I can say the LV bag is very nicely padded and also has hanging hook straps, which I'm not sure the Festool bag has.

I can tell you about the Festool bag.

Don't waste your money.  It's a flimsy piece of junk that is worth all of a few bucks off of eBay or Etsy.  Except it's north of a c- note. Made of thin nylon , weak zippers and little to no padding.  It'll wear out it short order.

The first generation was worth of the Festool name and price. It was stout , heavy denier material with generous padding.  It wasn't perfect because it was cut a bit small which made getting two rail in it difficult.  There was a super case in Europe for a while which held 4-5 rails and accessories in a thick padding.  It was like a soft box.  Was pretty rare , and the last expample I saw went for over $400.

I think the Makita bag is a bargain if you can find one and live with the colors.

I agree 100%. It is shame they even sold this. I have moved on to Mafell and their case is better than the Festool (seems more durable), but it is still nothing great. I bought a kit with rails, clamps, and connector which included the bag so the cost was not an issue.
