Leg vise

I have a leg vise on my main bench - simple iron screw operated.

I like it a lot better than a typical steel front vise.  Leather faces really aid in material holding without needing to overly tighten.

Jim,

Just wanted to complement you on the idea and execution, it looks great! Simple, clean and it even visually fits right into a traditional workbench.

Good luck with the product.

Sorry, I'm late to this post.  I have a Benchcrafted leg vise like Kev posted above.  I like it very much!  Jameel's coming out with a new "crisscross" vise I would look hard at.  Eliminates the need to stoop over and adjust the leg pin.

"Everything old is new again" -- The St. Peter's Cross leg vise adjuster has been around quite awhile however it's great that Jameel has updated it & making it available.

The "new to us"  [wink] Benchcrafted adjuster should be a big improvement over their old "pin" adjusters.

I would also take a serious look at Len Hovarter's quick adjust vises -- very strong, very fast.

Wow, that is a clever design! Took me a while to figure out how this is working, very nice. I might be in contact soon as I'm planning building a new workbench, do you ship to Europe (Switzerland)?

Cheers, Bob.
