My LOML commissioned me to make 8 sets of coasters for her employees that report to her.  I figured, oh, this won't take too long.  Wrong.  I used every piece of big iron I have - tablesaw, jointer, planer, bandsaw, wide belt sander, router table, drill press and not to mention a variety of Festools.  The wood is oak and walnut.  5 or 6 coats of gloss poly.  I was originally going to do box joints but once I had the sides cut, I realized to rabbet the sides at the bottom to fit in the box bottom would result in their being gaps where the router bit created the rabbet.  I guess I could have attached a stop on the router fence to prevent me from going too far but it was simpler to miter the corners instead.  They came out pretty nice and were a big hit at her office.  In fact, there were inquiries if I could make some more for sale!  Going to the lumber yard to stock up!

very nice...my only criticism is that it needs glass of bourbon sitting in it to prove it works  [smile]

perhaps "commissioned by the LOML"
Perhaps all three.
Perhaps I just smiled and misassociated it.
