Back in the seventies, I met a guy named Fred. He was the youngest first mate on an Exxon tanker back then and he lived back East. He visited me in Tahoe back then, and we both spent a good deal of time talking about woodworking. Back then, Woodcraft was a single store in Woburn, Mass. and we both used to pour over the catalog each year. Anyway, I lost touch with him (don't even remember his last name) and would like to find out what he's up to now. If this sounds like you or anyone you know, please let me know.

Thanks,

Mike

Hey Mike,
I don't have an answer for your problem.
i can assure you that such things sometimes do wrk out.
One of my best friends from my days in Korea contacted me by phone one sunday morning some 43 years after we had parted.
One of his computer geek friends had located me via the web and he had called me.  By the time we finished talking we were both in tears.

My other best friend, who i had written to for a short time after we had both left the service and eventually lost contact with.
he called me one evening some 50 + years later.  we wrote back and forth a couple of times but he dropped out of sight, i think our interests were, by now, quite removed from what they had been.

It was good to communicate with both.

When I first got into computers, and eventualy found out about the internet, i had tried to get in contact with both of my friends, but with names like Smith and root, I found too many referrences to cope with.  I had another buddy from Oklahoma by name of Hershel Smith who i looked up and found about 3 or 4 pages of entries with same name residing in the state.  I did not have enough fortune to go thru the phone book to locate.

I hope you have good luck in your own search.
