I know what you're thinking, but I can explain.  Due to my shortsightedness, I ordered the long rail too late for this application.  I've got to punch a bunch of holes tomorrow and the rail won't be in yet.  What's the best way to use the short rail for a long run of holes?  Thanks in advance.

What I do in that situation is to set up the short rail using the end stops and side stops normally. Mark your first hole position on the rail with a pencil line. Drill as many holes as you can using the short rail. Remove the end stop and slide the rail as far as you need too to drill the remaining holes. NOTE: leave the side stops in place and align a few previously drilled holes with the holes in the rail. I recently did a pantry door and had to move the short rail three times to get the entire distance. It worked like a charm. If you don't mind alittle extra time the short rail works perfect.
