Hello guys, thought I would share some more LR32 system wine rack photo's. Customer asked me to make a free standing countertop wine rack to go with the bamboo cabinets that I previously made. Had enough bamboo ply leftovers and metal spindles to put this together. Sprayed it with the general waterbased enduring var, really enjoyed spraying the stuff and has a real nice finish, with slight ambering. Rack holds 21 bottles and the top/ bottoms are dominoed together.
thx

Looks super!

But what about bottles? can the slide up front if someone slightly tilts it from the back of the rack?
What type of metal spindles did you use?
Would love to make similar one if you don't mind :)

Thx the spindles are just your regular 1/2in steel powder coat texture used for rails inside your home. They are spaced specifically for the 2 types of bottle and in this case I did fit 3 extra spindles behind as stops. I would have prefered to use the longer bodied bottles but this is what the customer supplied so I did accomodate. However everthing fits nice, level and the bottles sit good so I wasn't worried about slipping. Also stuck on the Lee Valley bench puck rubber sheets cut to size underneath to keep rack in position on counter top.
thx

That is one GREAT looking piece! Hoping to post pics of my latest bamboo project soon (if I can get back to finishing it!).

How has your luck been with warpage? The (strand woven) bamboo ply I've been storing (vertically :-( ) in my shop has warped noticeably.

Ouch!

I have had no warpage at all. The stuff I used is from Plyboo and at $250 per sheet was expensive but it seemed to be one of the more quality ones I could find. The top layers are also what I guess they call quartersawn which has very small pieces glued together. Again it seems to add price and quality. But I also live in Kamloops, BC which is a very dry place with a very low humidity. Also checked the slab cabinet doors and they have also stayed flat.
thx
