Hey guys,

Has anyone had a LS 130 just stop working? I am in a serious/urgent time crunch and I am sanding molding (casing, baseboard and crown) and while I was sanding the crown I held the machine upside down to get into a cove and it started to stall. I turned in right side up and used it some more before putting it down for about 10 minutes. I tried to use again and it would not start.

I have only used the machine a hand full of times and given my time crunch this is a BIG disappointment. If anyone has a remedy I would greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance. I'll try Festool support as well.

Yes, give us a call and we can assist.

Some basic troubleshooting, check the Plug-it cord to make sure it is properly attached and the power source to make sure power is good.

Yep, the cord is definitely the place to start. Do you have another cord to try the sander with?

Thanks Alex. I tried trouble shooting the basics: cord plugged in, vacuum on the manual setting and then I plugged in my RO 90 and that worked fine. So still trying to figure out.....

Thanks Shane, I left a message with Brent. Do you think my holding it upside down, while sanding, is the cause?

But did you try the LS 130 with the cord of the RO 90?

I'm not Shane, but holding it upside down can't be the cause. You should be able to use a sander in any position imaginable.

Now if something is wrong with the sander, it is possible it first shows itself when you hold the sander in a strange position.

As Alex suggested, holding it in any orientation is fine and shouldn't matter.

If you're within 30 days of purchase, you could see if your dealer has one in stock and just swap it. If more than 30 days, your dealer may, at their own discretion, opt to let you borrow their demo LS 130 to get you through your job.

Brent's a good guy and I'm sure he'll help get it resolved for you.

Do you guys know if the Festool service department is available on the weekends? It's been two weeks since I sent my brand new LS 130 back in for repair and when I called yesterday I was told that the sander was due to arrive by end of business. Today (6PM) I just asked a UPS rep who made a delivery next door if they had anything for this address and was told no.

Thanks in advance...
