...and me too! Picked up a few Festools today, CT 33 with handle and boom, ETS 150/3, ETS 150/5, Rs2E, DTS400, TS75, MFT/3, 55" Guide Rail with connectors, clamps & hold downs, Y connector & 16' hose, and lots of sand paper. Only cost me my first born and three toes off my left foot, don't worry, I can still walk! Had to go to work right afterwards, and won't get off till 11 tonight. Not too sure if I'll get much sleep.

You must have a good Woodcraft. I hate Woodcraft. When I walk in and the salesman knows nothing about the tools and never even  hard of Santos Mahogany or Paduak, there is a problem. Plus the tax here on all that stuff I could have purchased another tool. I assume you have good service at your Woodcraft to make it worth while. I will stick with Festool Junkie, free ship, they know all about the tools and Timmy has called me a couple of times just to see if I was happy or had any questions. Purchasing and returning is so much simpler than going to the local store as least with them it is.

I do envy you being able to go check out new stuff though. Woodcraft left such a bad taste in my mouth I do not think I can go back in the store even to look at the new routers.

Have fun with the new toys!

Hi, mitch dugo  welcome to the forum :)

Wow that is quite a haul!    I have yet to purchase more than one at a time. I will have to save up someday so that I can get a bunch all at once to open!  With four sanders you must have had a small fortune in abrasives.    Did you get an additional guide rail?

Sand paper does get expensive, I'm just hoping that going with the 6" Festool will be better than my old 5" Bosch. Went through a lot Mirca! I did get an extra guide rail, with the one that comes with the saw and the table, I'll be able to saw into the next zip code! Seth, what ones do you have and what do you think of them?

Hi,

You mean Festool tools in general?   The sanders sand paper ,or the guide rails?

Seth

Goodness,
Talk about taking advantage of the April price hike!

Ride your state of utopia as long as you can.  Me personally I love that"I shouldn't..........but WTF!"  I just bought 12, 9, 6, 4, sortainers fs2700 rail and a 90 deg c12 chuck.  I am very happy with the sortainers.

Nickao.
I'm in Mount Prospect, which Woodcraft are you referring to?  Palatine

If so, I have experience with 3-4 condensendingly patronizing, assuming and judgemental sales people.

Here analogy to describe it: Go to a Mercedes dealer in your work clothes to test drive a car.  Then start asking some difficult questions.

Now I only deal with John, real nice guy!

Mitch, sorry to rant on your parade!  Once again, Congratulations!

Yep Palatine. Sounds like we may have run into the same people! I will keep John in mind if I ever find I am in a bind and need to drive out there.

I grew up in Mount Prospect I lived on Wheeling road from '72 until '78. I  Went to Euclid elementary, River Trails Jr high and Hersey High School.

Are you from the area?

Sorry to hear about your experience.  When I was going to graduate school in Chicago I shopped at the Palatine Woodcraft all of the time.  I moved away in the fall of 2005.  There must have been some changes there because I did not have any problems with them.  The same people that own that store own the one in Bloomington, Minnesota, which was close to where I was living when I moved from Chicago and they were pretty good there as well.

I'm just hoping that going with the 6" Festool will be better than my old 5" Bosch. Went through a lot Mirca!
I went from the exact same combo (5" Bosch + Mirka Gold paper to Festool 150/3 +Festool paper) and have been very pleased with my upgrade (longer lasting paper, better finish at lower grits, -no- vibration with the 150/3).

I shop at the Allentown, PA store. Friendly and helpful people, there. I bought my ts75 there last month.... I wish I'd waited so I would have gotten a longer rail....

Enjoy it now while you can.  :)  When they finally leave the nest, you and yours will revell in the peace and quite, but only for a while.  Then you'll long for the "beautiful noise" to return.  :(

The older one left about 7 years ago and the younger one left about 5 years ago (well, I "encouraged" him to move by remodeling his bathroom and refused him permission to use mine during the remodel  ::) ).  Even though the younger one lives 10-12 minutes away, he doesn't come around as much as we would like.  We're forced to bribe him with filet's on the barby, pulled port and ribs.

Get him addicted to Festools then he may come around to borrow yours, tell him only if he stays on the premises. That may get him over more!

I wish.  He lives in an apartment and has little need for tools other than to repair his car.  Besides, if he were addicted to Festool, it would interfere with his "Rock Band" time.  :-\

He stopped over the other day to use my internet connection so he could download the latest Rock Band updates for his Xbox.  I suggested he go with his mother and I tomorrow morning to the Festool road show in West Chester, PA.  "That's nice dad, I don't think so... But I do appreciate you asking".  ::)
