Mahogany side table finish advise please...

hi

I am currently in the process of making a pair of side tables in the military/campaign furniture style.

They will be made out of mahogany and I am looking for a natural clear gloss finish which will be durable (kids)

I have just purchased the rotex 150 and had a look at various sanding attachments

Could anyone advise or inform me of a plan of attack
