Make your own plug-it cord: how?

I'm getting my garage organized more and more to work as effeciently as possible with all my Festool-stuff. Now I bump into the limitations of the length of the plug-it cord I have. As I have several of these I'm thinking of making a longer one myself.
This is what I have:
- a couple of plug-it cords that I don't need (as I already use one)
- an ordinary cable of 10 meters (this is Europe calling - I guess it's some 33 feet)

Can I open the contra-end of a plug-it cord and detach the cable from that easily? Or is it all glued and burned (whatever the right English terms may be) in the factory?

Hope someone can help me on this one!

Festool sell the plugs separately - item number 489685

I've never tried to take one off an existing lead, so I don't know if it's possible, but if they are spare leads then you're not losing much by trying. If it doesn't work, just purchase one of the above plug kits...

I do not know electrical conventions in Europe, so I will describe what I did when confronted with the same problem.

My garage had several 15 Amp electrical outlets, but they were not conveniently located and turning on the TS55 and vacuum dimmed the lights and other things.

I had an electrician put all of the light duty electrical items in the garage (lights and such) on a separate circuit.  I had him install a seperate circuit rated at 20 AMPs with 20 AMP receptacles.  I had him place those receptacles between the existing 15 amp recepticles and had him put two (20AMP) receptacles in the ceiling (on the center axis.

Since I was unable to find any manufactured 2' lengths of 20 amp rated extension cords (I can't reach the ceiling), I purchased some 12/3 wire and had it cut to 2' lengths.  I was then able to attach premanufactured male and female receptacles at either end.

The process of making your own extension cord is sufficiently bothersome (and expensive) that in several cases I simply purchased a premanufactured 15 Amp rated (but 12/3 wire) which gives me three outlets from the ceiling at a height which I can easily reach.  If you want a brand name let me know.
