Rohm makes a nice almost all metal single sleeve keyless chuck. I believe the same chuck is also sold by Metabo, and may actually be manufactured by them. I believe Bosch sells a version of the same chuck too.
The older Milwaukee cordless drills came with an all metal single sleeve keyless chuck made in Japan by Yukiwa. I believe the Yukiwa made chucks were only sold on Milwaukee drills in North America. In Europe I think Milwaukee used the previously mentioned Metabo/Rohm chucks.
Between the two manufacturers, the Yukiwa chucks appeared to have a thicker more durable exterior than the Metabo/Rohm chucks. The Metabo/Rohm chucks may have had a better ratcheting mechanism to tighten the chuck. I've also run into older Yukiwa chucks that looked the same as the ones used on the Milwaukee drills, but with had a ratcheting mechanism that wasn't as functional as either the later Yukiwa version, or the Rohm/Metabo chucks, so be wary of old stock, although I don't think Milwaukee branded ones would have the problem.
Carbide jaws are also nice and preferred.
This is the Rohm chuck I'm referring to.

This is the Metabo chuck. I'm not sure whether it has carbide inserts. It's the Futuro Top S1M model.

The Milwaukee chuck I'm referring to is the one pictured on this drill. I'm not sure whether it can still be purchased separately.

Rohm also manufactures a single sleeve version of their Supra SK chucks. I believe it is/was used on the top of the line Dewalt drills. It was heavier construction than the previously mention Rohm chuck.
