Makita Guide Rails

I believe this has been mentioned here before, but can anyone vouch that you can use a festool saw on a makita guide rail?

Yes you can they have only 2 sizes the 1400 and 3000 mm. You can also use their rail clamps for mft etc.

My understanding of the situation is:-

MAKITA GUIDE RAIL   

You can use the MAKITA saw on it

FESTOOL GUIDE RAIL 

You can use the FESTOOL saw *AND* MAKITA saw on it

Mine was:
Makita guide rail: you can use the makita and the festool saw on it, costs less.

Festool guide rail: you can use the makita and the festool saw on it, costs more, and you lose the anti-tilt feature of the makita saw when used with the festool rail.

Anyway, I got plenty of festool rails and saws at the moment. I will however buy another long festool rail when the parallel rip jig ends up in the stores around here.

Yes you can (use the festool saw on the makita rail)they (makita) have only 2 sizes the 1400 and 3000 mm (festool sells a wider variety of rail-lengths). You can also use their(makita's) rail clamps for mft etc.
