The mobile table saw in the lastest addition in sysnotes is quite nice.. It's perfect for small shops such as mine. What do you guys think of it?  Anyone gonna try and make one?  After I do the move into my new house, I will be making one or something similar.  I'm just gonna try to see how I can modify it to do more than one thing..  Any ideas?

Here's the article in SysNotes that Dave's referring to.

A special thanks to Marte Yerkins for sharing his project for building a mobile saw table which can be folded for storage.  Read the Marte's tutorial (in PDF format) about the Mobile Saw Table, complete with blueprints and instructions for making your own.

Shane, I tried to find a link to that copy of sysnotes on the FestoolUSA website but I couldn't find it.  It's not with all the other sysnotes..  Thanks for posting the link since I was not able to..

The table pictured is a nice execution of the cutting table concept.  There are many things you can do with that setup

Set up a cross cut system that will handle 49"  Remember mdf and particle board often comes in 49x97  so if you set it up to just clear 48" you will be angry. Use incra track and your crosscuts will be accurate to .002 and precise to 1/32

You can add embedded rip guides that will allow  you to make super fast and accurate rips

Add in a router table insert

Kreg jig insert

If you are really ambitious you can install a lifting element.  and use it as a cabinet assembly table as well.

Or you could make a different base and make the top a "tilt table" to lift heavy sheet goods.

There are many ways to make this the most useful tool in your shop.

I have been asked to take the mobile table concept further so here is a first look at what can be done with a Walko.

It folds up & stores in my tool trailer like a traditional Walko, can be used in the A frame mode, has wheels, (crosscut guides as shown) and full sheet rip cap.
can go from stored to cutting in less than 5 min on a jobsite.

Chairmon,

Is that 8020 material???  Thats nice..  How much do you think you have invested in that piece?

If you have more pictures I would like to see them, maybe some close-ups.
