I have been working on a built-in for our master closet for the last few months.  The closet is 12' x 10' and we didn't like the first attempt I built at closet storage (it was a kin to the California Closet/Rubbermaid/etc... open back style). It is my largest project to date and is almost complete with the exception of some crown moulding around the top.  The interior is constrcuted of pre-finished maple plywood and the face frames are stained popular to give it a little contrast.  The built in dresser drawers have a groove along the bottom edge for opening/closing and slide on Blum undermount glides.

Beautiful stuff.  My closet seems so insufficient all of a sudden.

I based it on the height needed for double hanging areas and long hanging areas.  I then figured out how big we wanted the dressers to be. I then divided up the remaining space for shelves and cubby areas.
