Metabo Battery woes

I  foolishly  let  one of  my  Metabo 18v Lithium Ion batteries  get some  water inside  in the form of rain.

It's  well dried now  but  seems dead.  The indicator  lights  will  light up  indicating full charge  though.
Just wondering  if anyone had anything similar happen?

If it was me I would contact Metabo and see what they say, as down here all Metabo 18v batteries come with 3 year warranty, Not sure what the deal in Europe is.

I had something similar happen to me with a makita Lion battery after getting wet.

Lion battery packs usually have electronics in them to monitor things like excessive rate of discharge and overheating to prevent them from exploding.

Unfortunately it sounds like the water damaged the electronics and its unlikely it will be economical to repair. The cells will be fine though and you could possibly hang on to them to use as replacements down the track. Not sure if its worth the trouble though.

Thanks.
I've tried it  in my metabo  LED  torch light  and  all seems  OK.

However  in  the  drill, the motor  runs for a few seconds  then  drops down  to a very low rpm.
Not quite right yet.
