Hello all

I've been using (and occasionally abusing) by Bosch 4410 SCMS for close to ten years, and am considering retiring the 65-lb beast to the shop, and getting something as light as possible for field work.

Makita has a very nice 7"+ slider that is at the top of my list, and 30lbs.  Bosch just came out with an 8-1/2", though it is close to 42 lbs.

I was at my local tool shop today, though, and saw a little Metabo KGS 255 gathering dust that they will make me a great deal on.

Does anyone have experience with this saw, or other Metabos, that they wish to share?

I have the 254 plus which is a very different beast . It is heavy and bulky but once set up is very stable and the dust collection is very good imho . The stock blade cuts through anything and leaves a good finish .
