Metal Sonic Blade in TS55

I had a one off need and decided to get a "cheap blade" to do the job. I needed to trim a few mm off the bottom of two garden shed doors (All of my serious gear is packed away so deep for moving that buying a blade for my easily accessible TSC55  seemed prudent!)

Obviously garden shed doors are thin, cheap things but I was still extremely impressed with the blade .. I could have been running it through a sheet of paper for all of the resistance it offered and there were minimal sparks. I've got no idea about the longevity of this blade, but if you have a smallish job I wouldn't hesitate. I could have easily done the same with the HKC55.

I paid $77AUD for this blade and that's less than half the price of a similar purpose FLAI.

I'm quite impressed [smile]

Thanks for the review.  Seems like the way to go for rough work.  Good luck with the move and enjoy unpacking the serious gear!

How does the blade compare with the Festool ones when cutting wood?

I haven't tried to cut wood with it yet, I can only hazard a guess that it'd be quite a good crosscut blade from what's obvious .. so much so that I'll probably grab one for the cordless Metabo SCMS.

The blurb on the saw says ...

WOOD - Clean cuts in all wood sections. Gives very clean cuts in laminates and Particleboard/MDF. For use in miter saws and portable tools.

From the local distributor ...

For the TS55 I got the 160mm 20mm 40 tooth variant ...
