I have an MFK 700 that I have used only for edge banding and such.  I'm curious to other uses particularly if it can be set up to use such with the rails with holes in them for indexing shelf pin holes.  I thought I saw this being used once at a tool show.  I was pretty sure he was using a MFK 700.  I believe that is why I paid particular attention since I had one.  But, as I search for the accessories to do this I'm loosing confidents that I was mistaken in my memory of this.

thank you for your help

I think it unlikely you saw a 700 used for shelf pin holes as you need a plunge function and the 700 doesn't have that. I keep thinking about designing a plunge base for the 700 as an aftermarket item but I am not sure there is a reasonably decent market for that. I even talked to Richard from MicroFence about why he did not do that and he said it was because of the way it mounts with pins versus a round body. I gave him my take on it and I could see the wheels turning but as far as I know he never took it on.

Anyone want a MFK plunge base capability? Shelf pin holes would be easy to incorporate after that.

I have to agree that my memory was as I thought, going out the window.  Yes, I have to agree after you mentioned that the capability of the plunging action is needed.  The MFK 700 fits nicely into your hand and I must of thought that is what I saw.  It was a few yrs back.  Possibly too light to be stable on the track.  Greg thank you for the quick reply.  I suppose I'll have to consider another Festool router in this case.
