Has anybody replaced the feet on the MFT 1080 to replace the stock rubber foot with the adjusting / leveling leg?  In other words, adding more leveling feet than the single stock leveler.

I'm wondering if there are any nuances, tricks, cautions, etc to watch out for, and if someone could relay the ease / difficulties of replacing said 'feet'.  (i.e. are they easy to remove; require some special tool; will they be ruined in the removal process; how easy is it to install the Adjuster and leveling foot...and so on)

I don't want to ruin the (rather pricey) MFT legs, but I need the additional leveling capabilities for my very-uneven basement floor.  I know I could create some spacers and account for it that way, but ultimately the MFT will get moved to different locations in my basement, depending on the project needs, size, etc... so I don't want anything that works only for a very specific location.

Thanks in advance.

The single adjustable foot on my MFT screws off very easily - I don't know if that's just mine, or if they're all like that

For tips on removing (and replacing) the other three non-adjustable rubber feet, hot water seems popular - see the two threads http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-how-to/mft-1080-foldaway-foot-romoving-rubber-foot/ and http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-how-to/has-anyone-replaced-the-rubber-feet-of-his-mft/ for discussions.

However, you should note that the adjustable foot is mounted on a leg that is shorter than the others! This is because the adjustable foot is longer than a non-adjustable foot. So if you purchased another adjustable foot with a view to making one of the other legs adjustable, then you'll need to saw the leg you're going to mount it on!

Awesome, thanks Forrest.  See, that's exactly something I needed to know... that might be a deal-breaker.  Hrmm..

Not sure how I feel about taking a saw to the MFT parts....  That feels like putting scissors to paper money....  On the other hand, the benefits strike me as very valuable, and only about $20 worth of parts to do it...  [scratch chin]
