MFT 1080 and Gramercy holdfast

I was wondering if the Gramercy holdfast works with a MFT 1080?

The Gramercy holdfasts are designed for 3/4" dog holes and also expect the benchtop to be a bit thicker than the MFT. Also, because of how holdfasts work, the MDF top would get damaged pretty quickly from use. While I absolutely love my Gramercy holdfasts, I only use them on my regular bench which is setup well for them with a hard maple top and about 2" of thickness.
