MFT/3 - height and cross cut

I am trying to solve 2 problems:
(1) My workshop is narrow and my tablesaw needs to be rotated 90 degrees if I need to cross-cut a long board. I do not have the space for a miter saw.
(2) I need an outfeed table.

So.... MFT/3 came to mind... the issue is that it is too high at 35 7/16", where my Sawstop (on mobile base) is 34". Is there any way to adjust the height of the MFT/3? Cut the legs?
Also - is the MFT/3 + Tracksaw a good solution for cross cuts?

Thanks!

Hi Guydot,
If you leave the MFT3 in folded state, you can place on any surface you want. The corner blocks where the leg hinges are, are fitted with rubber feet on the bottom as well.
So you could build your own base (like a cabinet), and simply place the MFT3 on top of that. So that the total setup matches your desired heigth.
There's plenty of MFT3 cabinet examples on this forum.

As blasphemous as is sounds, I cut my two MFT's legs off to match my Powermatics height.

In your case I wouldn't bother with the MFT3.  One of it's main selling points is portability, which isn't a factor here.  Second, you'd have to modify it to meet your needs (don't do it!).  You could always build a cabinet for it to sit on, with the legs folded but if you're going to build a cabinet to rest it on you're basically paying $660 for an MDF top with T-tracks around it (don't do it!)

My suggestion would be to build your own table.  Guy over at "guyswoodshop" did a nice job on his DIY MFT/outfeed table:

You can have a CNC shop make your top, to your size requirements for ~$100.  As for a flip down fence.  You can make your own quickly at basically no cost using Mitch's design:

TheSergeant - not bad at all! I do have access to a CNC shop at a nominal cost. I wonder if there are CNC files out there, although it is not too difficult to create one.

Can I ask where Mitch's flip down fence design is? Can't seem to find it other than that pic.  Cheers!
