It appears from the 2009 Festool catalog that it isn't possible to buy the lighter MFT/3 Kapex table with the guide rails system, angle unit, etc stuff that makes the MFT/3 so useful. Is that correct? If so, will all of those work if a full MFT/3 is bought with them along with the MFT/3 Kapex. The main reason I'm asking is that I'd like to take the MFT with me on site but at 62 pounds that's alot of heft. So was scheming thinking the 42 pounder might be more manageable.

Hi Ron,

I have a full  MFT 800 I was thinking about selling.  I don't take it out on jobs, (I have the legs folded up and resting on a dedicated systainer cabinet {with a saw holster and a flip up outfeed table that both come off the cabinet  ;D} ).  It works great but I was thinking about getting the larger table since I hardly move it.

Let me know if you have an interest. (Though you might get free shipping from Bob Marino etc and I would have to ship it to you from MD)

Just an option for you.

Thanks

James

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is yes...

The mounts for the guide rail and the angle unit from the full MFT/3 will work just fine on the MFT/3 Kapex. They depend on the extruded aluminum profiles and they are the same extrusion on all three MFT/3 tables.

Can someone tell me the differences between the old and new style MFTs? Perhaps it doesn't matter but would like to know what I'm paying for extra if I go with the current model. Thanks.

Thanks for the help and even possible purchases. At this point I've pretty well decided to buy the newer model -  probably the full blown MFT/3 and figure out how to put it on a cart or wheels.
