MFT/3 Problem

Hello, I ordered an MFT/3 on 11/15 from ToolNut.  Order came very promptly and I was impressed with the service.  Today, however, I finally had a chance to set the MFT/3 up.  My MFT/3 is missing the stops on the tracks of the long edges of the MFT on BOTH sides.  The original box took some damage during shipping, and ToolNut personnel had opened it up to stick some other items I ordered in the box.  I don't even have all of the styrofoam that came in the box.  All of the setup videos on YouTube I have watched depend on these hard stops being in place.

What do I do?

Andy

Ugh.  On closer inspection, there is a small "bump" on one of the longitudinal rails that interferes with the support bracket from sliding smoothly along the track.  I think this is shipping damage, because this is what the box looked like on arrival at my house:

Andy, sorry that UPS wasn't kind to your MFT/3. We will definitely get this sorted out for you. Shoot me an email at shane@toolnut.com and we'll get on this for you first thing on Monday.

As for the stops, I assume you mean the stops used for positioning the brackets for the guide rails, #4 in the attached image. If so, those are (supposed to be) installed at the factory.

That's the part exactly, x2 because it is missing on both sides!

Email sent.  Thank you very much for your assistance.

Andy

Thanks, Andy. Email received. We'll get this sorted out for you quickly. Again, sorry for the issues with the damage in shipping.

Andy,

We're in the process of preparing a replacement MFT/3 being sent to you. You can use the box from that one to return the damaged unit since you disposed of the box. Feel free to reach out to me directly or the customer service team if you need anything else.

Again, apologies that UPS wasn't nice to your MFT/3 and for the inconvenience.

Shane

Only slightly related but I have had three UPS shipments received in the past 7 days that look like they fell off the truck or were otherwise 'abused' in shipment. I wonder if it's because UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and others are hiring a bunch of temporary help to meet holiday shipping demands. During the year I probably received 60 or more packages delivered by various shippers, including the USPS, and none of them until these last 3 sustained any damage.

Just wondering that's the source of your damage, a temp worker who doesn't take the care in handling packages that a long term full time employee would/does.

Just an observation, not trying to start anything here. Maybe 3 out of 3 shipments damaged since the start of the holiday shopping is completely coincidental.

My first MFT/3 from a few years back came in a beat up box with a ding in one of the rails which I was able to fix myself.

I was lucky enough to pick one up earlier this year on the recon sale.  It arrived in absolute pristine condition thanks to the way Festool shipped it:
