Hi,

Can anyone tell me the realistic space required behind the MFT/3 for the accesories?

i.e. how close can the back of the MFT be placed to a wall so it all works ok?

Thanks
Mark

Besides room for the protractor head, when cross cutting you need enough clearance beyond the guide rail to easily remove the saw.

Perhaps the compromise would be to store the assembled MFT/3 close to a wall and pull it away from the wall when you use it for cross cutting.

The ideal arrangement is to use a complete MFT/3 as part of a team with two other basic MFT/3 far enough from walls you can completely walk around them. Set up of the basic MFT/3 is just unfolding the legs, so 2 of them take up little room stacked against a wall.

I agree that having access to walk around is best.  However, in response to your question, to give full access for cross cutting with the protractor fully back, I measure about 1 foot.  You can work with less but give up a bit of the cross cut capacity.

I have never used mine for cross cutting, ok a couple times
in the last 3 years. At this point and time, I still can not
find the extra parts for the rail and fence thingy.
