MFT 3 support other routers?

I'm still deciding on whether to buy an MFT 3 or not and one of the big benefits I see is cutting dadoes with a router so that you can see the cutting rather than blind on a tablesaw.  the issue is, I bought a Bosch MR23EVS not too long ago and have no desire to replace it with a Festool router.  Is it much effort to use a different router with the MFT guide?

The Festool guide rail on the MFT can use a piece of wood with a Dado in it to ride on it and keep any tool in alignment for routing or cutting.  So you could make a piece and adapt it with two support rods that insert into the base of your router, or adapt the current fence of your router and make it work.

Ingenuity is the mother of invention.  And saving money may be the father!

Certainly doable if you want to adapt it.

You will have to come up with a way to adapt the router to the rail if you want to ride the router on the rail.  If yu only want to run a router next to a rail then you are set.  If you want to ride next to the rail you might have to remove and rail and rotate it 180 if that is the side you want o ride next to.

The Eurekazone "Super Smart Routing Kit" is a great way to adapt non-Festool routers to the Festool guide tracks. I'm pretty sure that the Eurekazone grooves match the Festool track, but you'll want to confirm before you purchase.

I'm currently using this setup to adapt my OF-1400 to the Mafell tracks. Very versatile.

It's a really nice kit, very precise when used with a machinist feeler gauge, and you can order additional plates for different routers.

Hope this help!  [big grin]
