Hi everybody,

I consider the acquisition of the VL extension for my MFT/3 and have a few questions.

1) Can it be attached on any side of the MFT/3?

2) Cant it get any accessories that is sold for the CMS? For example, the sliding table.

3) If  used with a TS-75 module, how does it compare with a traditional table saw when it comes to precision?

thanks!

Hi Plouf  [welcome] to fog
As the MFT/3 has the "V" grove all the way around I can see no reason why not.
Same answer as above the sliding table fits to the "V" grove.
I have a TS75 fitted into a CMS table and the precision is as good, if not better than any table saw I have used.
The fence has a micro fine adjust and locking to the rear. This makes ripping very accurate.
Hope this helps

Hi Plouf,

Check out this thread by jmb that shows some pictures of the mft/3-vl that will answer your questions: link

Personally, I think the price difference of the mft3-vl versus the freestanding cms is too little, and I would prefer to have the flexibility to use it by itself instead of always having to take along the mft3.

It's an interesting post with many pictures indeed. There is also a little video showing how light the CMS is compared to the MFT/3+VL duet. But to be true, the way it looks heavy and sturdy is appealing to me. I just have to figure out how cumbersome it could be to remove it temporarily if it gets in my way.

And having a compact system is an issue for me as my shop is very very "tiny".

By the way, these pictures gave me lots of new idea either for a CMS or a VL. Thanks for pointing me to them!
