Hi all, I'm new to Festool but I've already amassed 6 systainers and see more in my future. I've lurked and learned so much from this forum!  [smile]

I'm weighing options of building systainer storage with pull out drawers and I'm intrigued by designs with an MFT table on top. The problem is I have a narrow door way that I need to roll my tools through, maybe once a year or so. That dimension limits me to 29.5". I believe an MFT is 30" or even a little more, so my question:

What's the minimum depth a cart top could be and still support the MFT table at the corners? For the very few times I would have to go through this door, I'm able to take the MFT off the cart to roll it through the doorway.

Thanks in advance for any help!

30 3/8 to capture the rubber feet.  You could always make your base 28” and just create two pieces of 3/4 ply that would be maybe 32” x 6” and use drywall screws to temporarily screw into the top at the corners. That way you could handle the table and remove those pieces only when you need to move the base through your 29” door.

Or make the cart 3 pieces.
A bottom with wheels and 2 15” deep cabinets.

Set the boxes back to back on the flat cart. Have some clever, quick hardware to lock things together.
Have handle holes in the boxes so they are easy to pick up.
Or, make two complete dolly carts that lock together. Downside is you need 8 wheels instead of 4.
