I am thinking about incorporating the MFT Kapex into a bench build.  I am curious to know whether the guide rail system from the MFT/3 can be used on the MFT Kapex.  If so, can the accessories from the MFT/3 be purchases separately?

I believe the FS1080/2 rail will span the long dimension of the MFT Kapex, and a FS800/2 rail will span the short dimension -- at least that's how it works my older MFT800.

You should be able to purchase any/all of the MFT/3 parts directly from Festool parts department. Some dealers might handle this for you too. I'd get the front and rear guide rail brackets along with a pair of stops (feather keys) --  about $115, as per EKAT.

I have a couple of MFT Kapex, one either side of my Kapex on a bench and storage unit.

The MFT fence parts work fine, but I used Incra Tracks with incremental positioners fixed using Rail Dogs from Qwas. I've built my unit so that the 20mm holes align with the fence being added, and are also co-planar with my MFT/3 which is to the side.

One helluva nice workstation you got there,[member=11629]GarryMartin[/member]!

Thanks. It seems like the whole garage/workshop is in a continual state of design at times!  [wink]
