Hi,

I’ve had a TS55 for a few years and decided to add and MFT as I have to make some gear racks for a home recording studio and wanted to make my panel cutting more precise.

I’ve read many threads on here about setting it up but keep having an issue that just doesn’t make sense.

Today I squared up the MFT fence to the track.  To check it I did a 5 cut test on a 550mm pice of MDF - it was super square - very happy….

Then I cut the 1st panel.  I have a reference edge that I cut when breaking up the MDF sheet.  On the MFT I made a cut perpendicular to the reference edge against the fence, I then flipped it upside down keeping the reference edge against the fence and made another cut perpendicular to the reference.

When I measure the width of the panel it drifts about 1mm over it’s 570cm length.

Would this be considered normal?  I though I should be able to get it more accurate.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Something moved. Assuming it wasn’t the fence (sometimes I add a clamp to make sure).

Did you change the height of the guide rail?
Is your guide rail sprung (as it should be) so that it always bears against the left side of the finger at the top of the front rail bracket?

Then there’s the thing that can happen to anyone’s setup, maybe a splinter got between the reference edge and the fence
